Connectivity can disappear at the exact point when a field team needs to record an observation. Green Codes Pro supports offline capture of observations and incidents in its installable web app when the capability is enabled for the organisation. The aim is to preserve the field record until it can be sent, while making the limits of offline work clear.
Prepare before the team loses signal
Enable the capability for the intended organisation and test the supported workflow on the actual devices. Show users how to enter the offline workspace, recognise an unsent item and return to the application when a connection is available. This is an installable PWA, not a claim of a separate native mobile app.
Check the queue, not just the save message
Local capture and server submission are different stages. A saved offline item waits in a synchronisation queue. Retry and conflict handling help manage delivery, but teams should still verify that an item has reached the server before treating it as received by the reviewing team.
Protect the device that holds the record
Offline data is stored locally and is not encrypted by this feature. Apply the organisation's device rules, screen lock and shared-device restrictions. Avoid treating offline storage as an approved place for unnecessary personal or sensitive information.
Practice a complete offline exercise
Capture a test observation without connectivity, restore the connection and confirm the resulting server record. Include a retry and a conflicting-change scenario in the pilot. Agree who investigates items that do not synchronise. Offline reporting is available for Pro when enabled; it should not be advertised as a Cloud Light capability.
